Frequently Asked Questions
How much does delivery cost?
Delivery costs vary according to size and weight, so do check the price that comes up for this in your basket. See Delivery for more info on this.
What payment methods do you accept?
There’s a wide range of options such as Google or Apple Pay, credit/debit cards and PayPal.
How quickly will I receive my artwork?
Usually this will take 7 to 10 days and in certain circumstances up to 2 weeks, depending on whether varnishing or framing are needed. Smaller items such as cards will be despatched more quickly.
If I am away from my studio for any length of time there may be some additional delay but I will contact you to let you know if this is the case.
Can I collect my artwork?
Yes, that is an option if you live locally, just select free pick up when purchasing. In certain circumstances I may be able to deliver if it’s within easy range of my locality.
Do you ship overseas?
Yes. Please contact me for a quote.
Do you accept commissions?
I’d be happy to discuss an idea for a commission with you to see if this would be a good fit with my own way of working.
What do you supply for hanging and displaying the artwork?
For framed canvases and works on paper, ‘D’ rings or similar and cord or wire will be attached to the back for hanging on either a standard picture hook or a nail/screw. Check your wall for the best type of fixing. Works on paper are supplied mounted in wooden frames behind acrylic glass (to avoid breakages in transit). Some works on paper are supplied with mounts only plus backing board. They will fit into standard sizes of frame enabling you to purchase ready made rather than custom made frames if you wish.
What’s the best way to care for my painting?
Paintings on canvas or board, whether done in oils or acrylics, are finished with a matt or satin varnish which has a level of UV protection. Avoid hanging in strong direct sunlight or in very humid environments. Dust the painting gently with a soft, slightly damp cloth and don’t use harsh cleaning chemicals as this can cause damage to the surface. Refrain from touching the surface with your fingers as the oils from your skin may cause damage over time and take care where there is thick, textured paint and texture to avoid bits breaking off.
Can I come and see your paintings?
If practicable for you, it would be possible to arrange a viewing of any artworks you’re interested in. Contact me here if you’d like to do this.
If you sign up for the newsletter in the box at the bottom of the page, you’ll be alerted about any upcoming exhibitions as well.
Why do the colours on the painting I’ve received look a bit different to the image on the website?
There can be slight variations between the colours represented on the website image and the actual artwork. This is sometimes due to the photography process, for example this may not adequately capture subtle blue-green tones or the website or browser configurations. I try and ensure that the images I display are as accurate as possible.
Can I use your artwork for commercial purposes?
No, not without an agreed contract for usage. I retain the copyright for my work. Also, see Terms of Service.
Do you offer art classes?
Not at the moment, but do sign up for my newsletter in the box at the bottom of the page, if you’d be interested in any workshops or classes in the future.n’t find the answer to a question? Contact me
